Paper Blog 1

The topic I chose to do for my paper is the online game Dungeon Blitz. Dungeon Blitz is a online role-playing based game. I will be examining the game and how players interact with each other. The reason I chose this tool is because I have been a gamer since probably 4th or 5th grade but I have never really taken the time to examine the social characteristics of players and how they interact with each other and communicate. I think it will be interesting to see what I can learn if I actually try observing more of the characters around me and how they are behaving rather than simply focusing on my own character and what I'm doing in the game. I will also be comparing this to the Theatre Model to see how the different players and NPC characters interact to create the world and story in the game.
